A multi-property binder carries one line per property per classed account, stacked below the main trial balance. The Trial Balance view now has a property filter, so you can review one property at a time instead of hunting through the whole sheet.
Why the sheet is long
When properties are merged in — or imported one trial balance at a time — Tallyfor appends the property lines below the Main TB Total rather than restructuring the sheet. That is deliberate: it is what keeps the trial balance balancing. The side effect is a long flat list in which four properties' lines are interleaved with each other and with the originals, which is exactly the wrong shape for checking one property.
Where the control is
Open the Trial Balance view on a multi-property binder. The property filter sits with the view's other controls. It offers:
All properties — the default, and the same view you have always had.
One or more specific properties — it is a multi-select, so "properties 2 and 4" is a single choice.
Unassigned — accounts that carry no property.
The order matches your reports
Properties are listed in the same order as the Property Report and the Form 8825 view — the Form 8825 column letters A, B, C, D. Property B in the picker is Property B on the form. There is no second ordering to learn.
Unassigned accounts stay reachable
An account with no property still belongs to the return, so the filter never hides them behind a property-only choice. Unassigned is a first-class option, which also makes it a quick way to find accounts that ought to have been assigned to a property and were not.
What the filter does and does not do
It is a view filter only. The stacked trial balance is untouched — nothing is moved, split, renumbered or written. Turning the filter off returns you to the full sheet unchanged.
Totals say what they are totalling. A filtered view labels its totals for the scope on screen, so a filtered trial balance is never mistaken for a short one.
It does not affect exports. Filtering the view does not scope the tax file — that is a separate control on the download. See below.
Reviewing one property, then exporting it
The filter pairs with the per-property scope on Download Tax File, also new in v3.25.73: review property 3 on its own in the Trial Balance view, correct what needs correcting, then download a tax file scoped to property 3 and re-import just that property.
